Holiday Recipes and Incorporating CBD Oil     

During the Holiday season, baking and festive drinks are a popular way to spread love and show your appreciation for others. At Flo Hemp Co, our family loves to make cookies and pie during the holidays. Since this year has been full of uncertainty, anxiety, and stress, here are two recipes that incorporate CBD oil into memorable holiday foods. 

Homemade Hot Cocoa

This is an easy, two minute recipe that will get everyone in the family feeling festive! This is microwavable, easy to make, from scratch, and full of rich flavor!

Prep time: 2 minutes

Cook time: 2 minutes

(1 serving) Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 ½ teaspoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ dropper of Flo Hemp Co THC-Free tincture

 

Instructions:

  1. Place the cocoa powder and sugar in a microwave safe mug, stir together
  2. Pour the milk over and heat in the microwave until hot (about 90 seconds)
  3. Drop Flo Hemp Co THC-Free tincture into the drink and stir well with hand blender until all the lumps dissolve and oil has mixed with the milk
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and enjoy!

 

Snickerdoodle Cookie

This is the perfect recipe for the winter holidays!

Easy and irresistible snickerdoodle cookies with the classic cinnamon sugar coating. No mixer needed, just two bowls and a whisk.

Servings: 18 cookies

Ingredients

  • 5 cup all-purpose floursee note
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Flo Hemp Co THC-Free tincture
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Set aside.
  2. Place butter in a glass microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds, check and microwave for 10 more seconds if needed. Add THC-Free tincture to butter after it has melted to help bring down the temperature.
  3. Cool butter completely. Add both sugars and whisk for 20 to 30 seconds. Add egg and vanilla and whisk just until combined.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Cover the bowl with dough and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. In a small mixing bowl or ramekin, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Scoop the cookie dough with a 1.5-tablespoon size cookie scoop, roll into a ball and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on prepared baking sheet, spacing the dough balls at least 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake cookies for 9 to 11 minutes. For me, the magic number was 10 minutes exactly. The cookies will look puffed up but will deflate while cooling and will have the classic snickerdoodle folds.

 

Recipe Notes

How to measure out flour correctly: do not dip the measuring cup in flour bag. Stir the flour in the bag a few times, so it is not packed. Scoop the flour with a spoon into the measuring cup, then level off the top with a knife. Place flour in mixing bowl and repeat if needed.
